Welcome Home

We had one week after getting home before school started. The best part of our homecoming was that Breezy was there! She moved into our house while we were galivanting around Canada. We were sad that moving to sunny Arizona was not a cure for her health problems, but we sure are glad to have her here. We all adore her. Isaac is glued to her pretty much whenever she is awake, Annie loves doing makeup/generally pretending to be her, and Elliot is always wanting to do crafts or draw silly stuff with her. Aaron and I get to have another person around to do Come, Follow Me with in the evening. She's an amplifier- things are just better when Breezy's in the room. Aaron noted that there is far more laughter in our home when Breezy is there.

One of their first projects- making a cardboard pinata

Breezy has this moth rug. The moth is named Motthew (think Matthew but mothy). Elliot for some reason loves to stick pillows under Mothhew and tell everyone his name is actually Sam.

Annie with eyeshadow, dark lipstick, and even a drawn on forehead scar to really make her look like Breezy. Annie's extra booster seat lives in Breezy's car as she frequently tags along when Breezy runs errands.

We got to celebrate her birthday a few weeks later. Here she poses with her Blood Boys in front of our crepes brunch.

Here she poses with batman across the parking lot from the sushi restaurant we went to for dinner.

Here she poses with her cake. Isaac is pretty much always on her lap if she's out of her room.

Our other last week of summer activities included a swim trip up Madera Canyon and a kid rave with glow sticks at playgroup.

Aaron has been on a quest to find ways to more efficiently cool our house. My favorite of his efforts is this portable AC unit he built. I named it "Peaceful Frog," and he works great! He loads it with ice packs when it starts getting warm, and the USB powered fan blows cold out the PVC pipes. He also got us solar panels and sun screens on the south facing windows.
