Shots

Elliot celebrated his 2 month birthday by getting a bunch of shots!

The before picture
This next picture was actually from a few days ago. His face during the shots was much, much redder. He did not appreciate his birthday gift. He screamed enthusiastically until I started nursing him, then he fell asleep to recuperate from the trauma.
Cute even when angry

Other cute pictures:
Well, I got most of his face in the shot

cutie alert

He can now pick up his ball all on his own! What a champ.

8 Weeks- Laughing!

Elliot has been hard at work learning two new skills: laughing and holding things!

Aaron is the best at producing Elliot laughs.
Dawwwww.
I have to wrap Elliot's fingers around toys to hold them, but once has has it he can hold on for a while. And hit himself in the face with them.

TBT- Viking Egg

Throwback to one of the first days of Sophomore year at BYU. I didn’t have any work to do yet and I was all unpacked, but my roomies were all busy and I hadn’t met Aaron Blood so I had to entertain myself. In one of my most creative ventures to date, I created Viking Egg. I took an egg from the fridge, made a viking outfit out of paper and a toilet paper roll, then drew on a face complete with a firery red beard. I then had a photoshoot with him around the apartment. It was a great success, and we kept him outside our apartment door until I suspected that he was starting to rot. All good things must come to an end.

In case you are wondering, it was 8:56 AM. It was a productive morning.

Dancing King

Our Elliot has some sweet moves.

Here's his YMCA at 4 weeks old recorded by his awesome Aunt Joanna:

He was also good at "nodding your head like yeah" and "moving your hips like yeah" to Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA," but in what is probably my biggest failure of motherhood, I didn't get a video. He hasn't fallen soundly asleep on my lap like that for a while.

Now he dances while he's awake! He gets all his moves from his dad. These next two videos were taken at 7 weeks.

Ok, this next one has nothing to do with dancing, but it is pretty darn cute. We put the toys onto his little chair for the first time and he loves them! It's also great because the chair rocks itself when he kicks.

Seriously.

Garden Update

It's that time again! Our germination station is in full swing. We moved the tomato seedlings to cups today. I'll start putting them outside for a few hours a few days to harden them off. We didn't harden them enough last year and lost some plants to sun shock.

Graduating to level 2: Plastic cups

Cute baby tomatoes

Germination Station
There is life outside too. The seeds we planted fall/winter are doing pretty well, and our green onion doesn't seem like it will ever die. We bought some in the grocery store over the summer and planted them outside and they went crazy! They will grow in a cup of water in an indoor window as well, but the cup got nasty looking and it didn't grow as big as it did in the soil outside.

Beets. Bears. Battlestar Galactica.

Green onion forest! Seriously, some of the shoots are 2 ft tall.

Carrots to the left, Swiss Chard tot he right, and the pruned grapevine in the back
