Back to School

Before we knew it, the kids were heading back to school! Annie is in Kindergarten with Mrs. Arauz.

Annie loves her teacher and the "Pete the Cat" themed classroom.

This gal was so ready for school. She loves it.

The only hard part is that the school bus comes at 6:27am. She gets up with an alarm at 6:05, then uses the bathroom, gets her hair done while watching a YouTube video or a few minutes of "Is it Cake?" on Netflix, and heads down the street. She buys breakfast at school.

She comes home with lots of stories about her new buddy, Abigail. She now frequently burst into songs about spelling. One day she said, "it used to be hard to count to 100, but now I learned a song about it, and it's easy!" Total Kim Johnson statement right there. I'm grateful that she's in a classroom where they have fun and have lots of singing- Annie soaks it up!

Elliot in 3rd Grade, which means he moved up from Sahuarita Primary School to Sahuarita Intermediate School. It means his bus comes 15 minutes after Annie's.

Elliot's teacher is Mrs. Wagner.

This year Elliot is in the gifted program, which means that once a week he gets bused with all the gifted kids in the district over to Sopori Elementary, 40 minutes away. He likes it- they have lots of fidget toys (including rubiks cubes), and they can get their snacks whenever they want. It's much more freedom, and they do more project based work, which he seems to enjoy.
