The Allsops were kind enough to let us crash at their house for a few nights after Alpine. Our kids play so well together, and they are so pleasant to be around. It's a crying shame that they moved away from Sahuarita, and I'm always glad when we are able to include a visit to them when we are in the area!

Hanging out at our picnic dinner.
On Monday, we headed to Lagoon! It was Elizabeth's plan- she found some great discount tickets. The Allsops, Crawfords, and Mimi & Blake were all there. We saw each other off and on through the day. We were there from opening to closing and still didn't have time to go on all the rides! Our favorite was Primordal, the new roller coaster.
The roller coaster itself is fun with some really fast parts and drops, but there is also an interactive part with 3D glasses and things to shoot for points. I liked it because it is a roller coaster that you can win! Elliot won the second time- his video game efforts are finally paying off! I love how very confused Isaac looks in this picture. He generally didn't know what was going on but was very brave and went on every ride that he was tall enough for. He was also a good sport about not being bothered when he was too short for some of the rides.
Bombora- one of our favorites. Note Avery and Elizabeth in the back.
When we went to Lagoon 2 years ago, Elliot was rather traumatized by the Cannibal. It goes crazy fast and upside down. I was very proud when he decided to give it a try again this year and impressed that Annie was willing to go for it also! They both went on it twice to prove their mettle, but it wasn't their favorite. This is a super intense roller coaster- I got tunnel vision and was 60% of the way to blacking out both times I went on it.
Scarier than any roller coaster was when Isaac got lost. We should have assigned him a buddy instead of letting him bounce between people. We had a big group and had split up, so it took us a while to realize he was missing. Luckily I had talked to the kids about what to do if they got lost as we walked into the park, and he did just what he was supposed to do. He was with the attendant in the ride right next to where we had last seen him. He was a bit rattled but bounced back to his usual self quickly after a healing shoulder ride from Uncle Blake.
The younger kids had a blast with Mimi in kiddie land while Elliot, Aaron, Blake, Elizabeth, Hazel and I went on bigger rides. I was surprised to see how many rides she could take Felix on! They could have spent many more hours in kiddie land. Annie is at the perfect age where she can handle the big rides but also gets a kick out of the little ones (especially if she's hanging out with her soulmate Mimi).
I wasn't surprised that Isaac picked the quirky frog to be his steed on the merry-go-round
There were too many adorable pictures of Felix on the carousel to pick just one. I love his clap!
He's just the happiest little baby, and we are all obsessed with him
Elliot came close to getting trench foot after walking around with soaked feet for hours. The rest of us took off our socks before riding Rattlesnake Rapids, but he decided not to. By dinner time he could hardly walk, so he aired out his soggy dogs while we ate some pizza.
Other memories worth documenting are riding the Jet Star 2, aka the sweaty snuggle coaster, and the fact that Aaron and I had completely dead phones at the end of the night, which made it interesting to find Mimi and Felix as the park closed. Luckily Mimi spotted us by the entrance with her eagle sharp eyes!
