Elliot's 4th Birthday

Elliot was SO EXCITED for his birthday this year. Event #1 was a little shindig at the end of preschool. I got to bring a treat and read a book to the class. It was cute seeing Elliot be so excited for Annie and me to get to come to the last bit of preschool.
I was going to make cookies, but Elliot requested chocolate walnuts. I went above and beyond by wrapping them up with wrapping paper and ribbon like little party poppers.

We were in West Virginia on Elliot's actual birthday, so we had a party the Saturday before.
His "say cheese" face is looking less and less natural these days
We requested "no presents" on his party invitations, so we opened presents with just the family in the morning
Decorating the cake
I found a free printable "Little Blue Truck" birthday party kit based on a children's book that we have. Three friends came over for a few hours of fun and games.
The kids all had a love/hate relationship with the party hats

Reading The Little Blue Truck. Wyatt had most of it memorized and was saying it along with me
The kids all freaked out about the blindfold and decided to pin the hat on the truck with their eyes open. It is a lot less fun that way.
What a happy birthday boy

We ended by playing animals charades. Half of the kids did "cat" every time.
After this they were pretty done with organized activities and bolted out to play in the backyard.
Elliot the 4 year old is a delightful kid. He starts a lot of his sentences with "Have you noticed that..." One of my other favorite things he says is "Oh, there you are!" whenever I come out from the bathroom or he finds Annie hiding somewhere.
Elliot is definitely a builder. His favorite toys are legos, blocks, and magna tiles. He builds chair forts at the church multiple times a week, and loves watching daddy build his defenses when they play video games together.
Elliot is a sweet big brother who will shout "special delivery!" while bringing Annie her baby doll or water cup. He makes sure that we constantly acknowledge her presence.
The compliment that Elliot most likes to receive is that he is super silly. He requests "SNUGGLES PLEASE" every day.
