Isaac's construction vehicle obsession phased into a very strong superhero era, heavily influenced by Breezy. She loves to take the kids into the backyard or snuggle on the couch while telling them her favorite comic book plotlines. They soak up every word.
For a long time, Isaac's entire identity was determined by which superhero shirt he was wearing that day.
Playing superhero games - he had a strong "Go Fish" era with our superhero Go Fish cards. He started saying "Go Fish" with a sassy voice instead of saying "no" for a while.
Here's a video of me trying to capture Isaac's depth of superhero knowledge
Ironman soaring high
Nothing brings these two brothers together as much as building cozies out of couch cushions and blankets.
Isaac also went through a strong magnatile phase. We had to tear him away from the magnatiles every night and he would go straight back to playing with them first thing in the morning. His biggest delight was having me watch a YouTube tutorial and building the ambitious builds for him.
This T-Rex was my magnus opus
Isaac is very willing to go along with any of Annie's schemes, even when they involve hair salons
Or dress shops
Or dance parties
Isaac managed to stop sucking his thumb in a day! We used the same playbook that we did with Elliot where we hyped up that he would stop sucking his thumb when he turned 4. We put the bad tasting nail polish on him on his birthday, and he broke the habit immediately. He also managed to finally figure out potty training! We did an intensive boot camp shortly after his birthday (the third or fourth boot camp) and it finally clicked. He's a big kid now!
While we were on the RV trip, Isaac stated multiple times that he missed the food processor. This guy loves to help cook. If only that translated into a willingness to eat dinner...
At the zoo, he wanted to take a picture with the crocodile because they are Breezy's favorite animal
He's a boy who loves to hug.
Here's Isaac with his best bud and doppelganger, Cooper Ashcraft
A rare moment of Isaac and Colton holding hands instead of beating each other up at volleyball!
Isaac is a champ at riding his strider bike. He can really zoom on that thing, definitely more than the older kids did. Here's a cool remote control boat we saw while biking around the lake one day.
This little guy is the perfect combination of wild and cuddly. He keeps us laughing with his goofball energy.
