We spent two glorious nights at Robb's parent's house in Darby, MT. They have a beautiful house up against a mountain with a calm lake and a section of river on their property, along with many randomly huge sheds that I enjoyed touring. It was so nice to have a break from our rather fast paced trip- and their backyard was almost as scenic as some of the spots in national parks that we stopped at!
We discovered some scrapbox with some great pictures of Young Robb |
Early morning fishing |
Annie was oh so impressed with Robb's fish. Well mostly she was determinedly trying to reach the grass and eat it. |
I have always loved being on water. |
Yes, we did take the baby on the kayak. The water on the lake was perfectly calm. Annie wasn't a fan of the life jacket, so it didn't last long. Elliot and I went longer. |
Eating all their produce |
Robb's sister was there with her kids, which made it into quite the delightful kid pack |
The second story was perfect for launching paper airplanes |
Colby was very excited about Aaron's drone. We established once and for all that it is sadly a worthless piece of junk. |
We developed a chopstick method for stacking pokey pine cones |
We could have a whole album of Aaron holding Annie from this trip |
We celebrated Independance day on the 5th of July since we got in kind of late on the 4th. We had a wienie roast followed by fireworks on the riverbank. |
Holding the little lady's ears for the louder fireworks |
Sparklers! |
oh my baby face |
It gets dark super late that far north- around 10pm. It was as bright as the middle of the day during our firework show, even though it was past the kid's bedtime. |
A big thanks to the Hays for their hospitality!
